A Gyeongju Cherry Blossom Day Trip from Busan

When the cherry trees flowered in Gyeongju in 2026, by the city's own calendar, which day tour from Busan passes the blossom at Bulguksa and Daereungwon, and the Jinhae blossom day as the alternative.

Updated November 2026

On Gyeongju’s 2026 calendar the ordinary cherry blossom at Bulguksa came in early April and the double-flowered cherry from mid-April on, and the Daereungwon Stone Wall Road Festival ran from 3 to 5 April 2026 (Gyeongju city’s April 2026 page, checked November 2026). The city has not published 2027 dates. A guided day that passes both places is LOVE KOREA’s Busan: Gyeongju UNESCO Authentic Full-Day Guided Tour, from US$36 on promotion, usually US$57 a person (checked November 2026): Bulguksa in the morning, the Daereungwon tombs in the afternoon.

Gyeongju city’s recommended-travel page for April 2026 gave:

  • Bulguksa’s cherry grove: the ordinary cherry blossom in early April, and the double-flowered cherry from mid-April on.
  • The Daereungwon Stone Wall Road Festival: 3 to 5 April 2026, 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, timed to full bloom along the road beside the tomb park.
  • Seondeok Queen Road: at its best in April, with a barefoot walking event on 11 April 2026.

Gyeongju city, checked November 2026. Blossom dates move from year to year with the weather, and no 2027 forecast or festival date had been published when we checked. Treat early April as the window to watch, and the city’s spring pages as the place to watch it.

Which tours pass the blossom

Map of Gyeongju: Bulguksa 18.3 km by road south-east of the town centre, the town centre with Daereungwon, Cheomseongdae and Wolji, and Gyeongju Station (KTX) to the west
Bulguksa, with its cherry grove, south-east of town; Daereungwon and its stone wall road in the town centre.

Every day tour from Busan compared on this site visits Bulguksa, and all but one package visit Daereungwon. LOVE KOREA’s day does both, with Gyochon village and Woljeong Bridge as well. Lecirt's day visits both on every option, and KOREA DISCOVERY TOUR's small group visits both and Seokguram. None of them is a blossom tour as such: the stops are the same all year, and in early April they happen to be where the trees are.

Jinhae, the other blossom day

From Busan, the other spring day out is Jinhae, west of the city. The Jinhae Cherry Blossom One Day Tour on Viator spends 7 to 8 hours there: a closed railway station lined with cherry trees, the Yeojwacheon stream and two and a half hours on the festival’s main street, with lunch on your own. It is from US$47 (checked November 2026), guided in English, with three pickup points in Busan. Gyeongju is the day for temples and tombs under the blossom; Jinhae is the day for the blossom alone.
