Which Gyeongju Day Trip from Busan?
A Gyeongju day trip from Busan is a long day in the old capital of the Silla kingdom: the temple of Bulguksa in the hills south-east of town, then the royal tomb park, the old village of Gyochon and the river bridge in the centre. The one to book first is LOVE KOREA’s Busan: Gyeongju UNESCO Authentic Full-Day Guided Tour, from US$36 on promotion, usually US$57 a person (checked November 2026). In 12 hours from three Busan subway exits it visits Bulguksa, Gyochon with a rice-cake pounding session, Daereungwon, Hwangnidan-gil, the national museum and Woljeong Bridge, admission paid. It does not go to Seokguram Grotto; if the grotto matters, book a tour that does.

The Route, the Stops and What You Pay
Where the day goes, what each stop is, which tours reach Seokguram, what the price covers and what is paid on the spot.
Where the day goes

Gyeongju has two parts that matter for a day trip. Bulguksa stands on the slopes of Tohamsan, 18.3 km by road south-east of the tomb park, with Seokguram Grotto higher up the same mountain. The town centre packs the rest into a short walk: Daereungwon’s royal tombs, the Cheomseongdae observatory 0.88 km on foot from them, Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond 1.12 km further, Gyochon village and Woljeong Bridge by the river.
From Busan, a tour coach takes 80 to 90 minutes to get there on the itineraries that give a time. Busan Station to Bulguksa is 91.3 km by road.
LOVE KOREA’s day, stop by stop
Pickup is at 8:10 AM at Busan Subway Station Exit 4 (the subway, not the KTX gate), 8:30 AM at Seomyeon Exit 4 or 9:10 AM at Haeundae Exit 5. The guide sets up a WhatsApp group before the tour.
The first stop is Ahopsan Forest, “a 400-year-old private bamboo” grove with a café nearby; its admission is not included. Then Bulguksa, the Silla temple on its stone terraces. The afternoon is in town: Gyochon village and the house of the Choi family, a rice-cake pounding session at Gyochon Garam, the tombs of Daereungwon and the cafés of Hwangnidan-gil. Near the end you choose the Gyeongju National Museum, or Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond for 3,000 won more, and the day ends on Woljeong Bridge.
The coach drops off at Busan Subway Station at 7:20 PM, Seomyeon at 7:50 PM and Haeundae at 8:10 PM, and the end time can move with the day. The order can change with weather, traffic and season. The guide speaks English. The tour is not for wheelchair users, and children aged 0 to 3 cannot join.

What the price buys
The US$36 on promotion, usually US$57, checked November 2026 on the booking calendar is the lowest of the dates on sale. The tour has a single option: on 27 November 2026 it cost US$36.14 a person, and on 20 January and 10 March 2027 US$57.49 (checked November 2026). Two adults paid twice the one-adult price.
That buys the guide, the transfers from Busan and back with tolls and parking, and admission at the stops. Ahopsan Forest is extra, and so is Donggung and Wolji if you pick it over the museum; the city’s adult fee there is 3,000 won (checked November 2026). There is a lunch stop at a local restaurant, but lunch is not among the inclusions. The Gyeongju entrance fees lists every site’s fee and hours.
Seokguram
Seokguram Grotto is not on LOVE KOREA’s itinerary. Several of the other tours go: KOREA DISCOVERY TOUR's small group, Lecirt's day on its Seokguram option, which is the one its from-price buys, TOURSTORY Korea's day on package B, and TOURSTORY Korea's Echoes of Silla. Gyeongju city’s tourism site lists Seokguram, like Bulguksa, as free to enter (checked November 2026), and VisitKorea gives a shuttle bus from Bulguksa every hour, about 20 minutes up the mountain.
Gyeongju day tours compared has every tour’s stops side by side.
Other ways to spend the day
For a small group, KOREA DISCOVERY TOUR's day takes up to 6 and collects from hotels in Busan or Gyeongju. For lunch in the price, Busan Tourism Center's day includes it, with hotel pickup and Seokguram, from US$190 (checked November 2026). For Yangdong Folk Village, TOURSTORY Korea's package A goes there. For a guide in Japanese, Lecirt's Japanese-language day ends with Donggung and Wolji in the evening and Woljeong Bridge lit up.
For a car to yourself, Gyeongju UNESCO Private Tour with Busan or Gyeongju Pick-up on Viator is priced by the size of your party; admission and lunch are not included.
What reviewers mention
LOVE KOREA’s day has 956 reviews on GetYourGuide at an average of 4.9. We read the 350 most recent, dated 16 September to 7 November 2026: 5 give three stars or fewer, and 3 of those carry a comment. One thought the time and the fee at the bamboo forest not worth it and would have ended at the palace pond after dark; one, on a Korean public holiday, found too much packed into too little time; one had a rainy day on which the group skipped the forest, with a guide looking after a Chinese-speaking group as well.
